Expert DPF Cleaning For German Vehicles
If you own a diesel car, then the chances are you have a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). This device sits within a vehicle’s exhaust system and is designed to “capture” soot/diesel particles to reduce harmful emissions.
DPFs are designed to self-clean, through a process called “regeneration,” which happens under certain driving conditions. However, over time, these soot-removing filters can become clogged.
Diesel particulate filter cleaning is carried out at Volks Autos. If cleaning has been advised, this could suggest the engine management system has been prevented from carrying out a passive regeneration.
Our cleaning process consists of firstly injecting a specialist cleaning product into the DPF where it is left for a period of around an hour, to break down the soot within the DPF. Then a neutralising agent is injected. Once this is complete, all removed parts are refitted and the engine is then run to burn off all of the products with the broken down soot. Finally a forced regeneration is carried out to further clean the DPF.
