It Might Be Time For A Wheel Alignment!
Ever find yourself wrestling with the steering wheel as your car drifts to the right or left? This could be a sign that your vehicle needs a wheel alignment. Aligning your wheels isn’t just about keeping your car driving straight—it’s also about ensuring a safer, smoother ride and extending the life of your tyres. Plus, aligned wheels mean better fuel efficiency, so you’ll save money at the pump too!
At Volks Autos, we use state-of-the-art SuperTracker equipment to get your alignment spot on. But what exactly is the difference between a front wheel alignment and a four wheel alignment? Let’s break it down.
Front Alignment
A front alignment, also known as a 2 wheel alignment, focuses on adjusting just the front wheels. This type of alignment might include adjustments to the toe, camber and caster if applicable of the front wheels. Some vehicles have a solid rear axle that doesn’t need alignment, making a front-end alignment sufficient.
Four Wheel Alignment
As the name suggests, a four wheel alignment involves adjusting all four wheels. This is typically necessary for all-wheel-drive vehicles or cars with independent rear suspensions. Our brand-trained technicians will inspect and measure your vehicle’s main geometry and, if necessary, proceed with the standard front and rear wheel toe and camber adjustment.
Please note, while carrying out these adjustments, if any suspension components are seized, we’ll always do our best to free them. However, if unsuccessful, they may require replacement at an additional cost.
